About Argon Gas Cylinder

Argon is a noble (inert) gas used as a shielding gas in welding and as a process gas in laboratories and semiconductor manufacturing. Argon prevents atmospheric gases (oxygen, nitrogen, moisture) from contaminating the weld pool, resulting in clean, strong, and aesthetically superior welds.

Ankur Oxygen Gas Agency supplies high-purity Argon gas cylinders (99.9%+) for TIG welding, MIG welding, plasma cutting, and stainless steel fabrication across Delhi NCR. We also supply laboratory-grade Argon for scientific instruments, gas chromatography (GC), and research applications.

Available in industrial cylinder sizes, our Argon cylinders are PESO-certified and sourced from verified manufacturers. We serve welding workshops, fabrication units, engineering companies, and research institutions across North-East Delhi and beyond.

Safety Guidelines
  • Argon is an asphyxiant — can displace oxygen in confined spaces. Ensure good ventilation.
  • Store cylinders upright, secured, and away from heat sources and ignition.
  • Use Argon-rated regulators only — do not interchange with oxygen regulators.
  • Inspect hoses and connections for leaks before use with a soap solution.
  • Never use Argon in an oxygen-enriched atmosphere — fire hazard.
  • Do not allow back-pressure from the welding torch — use flashback arrestors.
  • Keep cylinder caps on when not in use to protect the valve.
Frequently Asked Questions
For TIG welding, 99.9% (Argon Grade 4.0) is the minimum recommended purity. For critical welds on stainless steel, titanium, or aerospace alloys, 99.99% (Grade 4.9) is preferred. We supply both grades — please specify your requirement.
CO₂ alone can be used for MIG welding of mild steel and gives deeper penetration but produces more spatter and a rougher bead. Argon/CO₂ mixtures (typically 75–80% Argon + 20–25% CO₂) give much better results — better arc stability, less spatter, and cleaner welds. For stainless steel and aluminium, pure Argon is required.
Currently we supply pure Argon and separate CO₂ cylinders. Mixed gas cylinders can be arranged on order — please contact us to discuss your specific welding gas mixture requirement.
At a typical flow rate of 10–15 litres/min for TIG welding, a D-Type Argon cylinder (~3.7 m³) lasts approximately 4–6 hours of welding. A Jumbo cylinder lasts significantly longer. For high-production workshops, we recommend Jumbo cylinders or bulk cylinder contracts.
