A B-Type oxygen cylinder is the most commonly used medical oxygen cylinder in India. It holds approximately 7.1 cubic metres of oxygen at 150 bar pressure. It is ideal for home oxygen therapy, hospitals, nursing homes, and clinics. Anyone prescribed supplemental oxygen by a doctor — for COPD, asthma, post-surgery recovery, or COVID-related lung issues — typically uses a B-type cylinder.

The main differences are: Weight — aluminium cylinders (4.6L, 10L) are significantly lighter, making them portable and easy to carry. Rust resistance — aluminium never corrodes, while steel cylinders can rust over time. Use case — aluminium cylinders are ideal for travel, ambulances, and bedside use; B-type steel cylinders are better for continuous, high-volume home or clinical use. Duration depends on the flow rate prescribed by your doctor. At 1 litre/min: a 4.6L cylinder lasts approximately 45–50 minutes; a 10L cylinder lasts approximately 100–110 minutes. At 2 litres/min: 4.6L lasts ~22 minutes; 10L lasts ~50 minutes. For continuous home oxygen, a B-type cylinder or oxygen concentrator is more suitable.

Technically, medical oxygen requires a doctor's prescription under drug regulations. However, for home use and emergency supply, we work with families and caregivers to ensure access is not delayed. Yes. We supply food-grade CO₂ for beverage carbonation (soft drinks, soda water, beer dispensing) and food-grade Nitrogen for MAP (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) and nitro coffee. Both meet FSSAI purity standards.

Yes. All cylinders we supply are ISI-marked and BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certified. Our medical oxygen cylinders comply with IS 7302 standards. Every cylinder is pressure-tested and safety-checked before delivery. We do not supply uncertified or counterfeit cylinders under any circumstances.

Store oxygen cylinders: upright and secured (chained or in a stand) to prevent tipping; in a well-ventilated area away from heat sources, open flames, and direct sunlight; away from flammable materials like oil, grease, or petrol; with the valve cap on when not in use. Never store in enclosed spaces like car boots or cupboards.

Your regulator has a pressure gauge that shows remaining pressure. When the gauge drops below 25–30 bar, it is time to refill or replace the cylinder. Never let the cylinder run completely empty — this can allow moisture to enter and contaminate the cylinder. Call us before it runs out so we can arrange a replacement in time.

Yes, we assist with cylinder refilling. Bring your cylinder to our shop at Shop No.7, Mukhiya Market, East Karawal Nagar, New Delhi, or call us at +91 99685 25841 to arrange collection and refilling. Cylinders must be within their hydrostatic test date — usually tested every 5 years.
